The highlights of our history
In 1840, on 1and April was created the Société de Secours Mutuels des Cuisiniers de Paris.
On 28 March 1919, the President of the French Republic has decreed that the society of mutual relief and retirement of the cooks of Paris located 45 rue Saint Roch 75001 Paris, n° 176, is recognised as an institution of public utility and approves its statutes.
In 1920, birth of the Revue Culinaire.
On 21 March 1923, Mr Léopold Mourier instituted for his universal legatee the mutual relief society of the cooks of Paris, recognized as being of public utility, under the charge of employing the whole of what she will collect in this legatee only to the maintenance and improvement of the family home of retirement and orphanage of the cooks of Paris, located in Cormeilles in Parisis, coming from the donation he has made to her, and still dependent on her to give to that family home of retirement the name of FONDATION LÉOPOLD MOURIER.
Mr Léopold Mourier insisted that this indication of « LEOPOLD MOURIER FOUNDATION » either put the name at the top of the list, and not as it currently exists.
Mr Leopold Murier also asked that the mutual relief society of the cooks of Paris owns the entire real estate company Les Cuisiniers de Paris to acquire the building at 45 rue Saint Roch in Paris. The entire income of this building is to be used to maintain and improve the family home in Cormeilles.
26 March 1986, the prefecture confirms that the mutual organization entitled « Paris cooks mutualist society » and registered under number 75-176 in the departmental directory of Paris, has been authorized to take the name of « Mutuelle des Cuisiniers de France » by prefectural decree of 21 January 1986 and is not governed by the law of 1 January 1986.and July 1901 on associations, but by the code of mutuality.


3 August 1986, passage to Book III of the Code of Mutuality which applies to mutuals and unions which carry out activities of prevention and promotion of health, social action and run health, social or medico-social establishments.
1994, Leg de Monsieur Clément Faudrylègue à la Mutuelle des Cuisiniers de France d'un appartement situé 13 rue des Plantes 75014 Paris.
25 November 1994, construction of a building on courtyard of 27 rooms. This complex of 51 rooms in total becomes The Home of Clichy which welcomes young workers from the world of cooking to enable them to start a professional life without the immediate concern of Parisian housing.
18 September 2002, the FMP (Paris mutual federation) is fully substituted for the Mutuelle des Cuisiniers de France for the creation of health, accident and death insurance guarantees.
30 April 2007, Signing of a 60-year construction lease for the benefit of SCI LM Villa Beausoleil who now runs an 80-room nursing home with a state-of-the-art unit for Alzheimer and related residents.
Since 1and January 2013, all mutual accounts are consolidated jointly and are subject to corporate tax.
As from the extraordinary general meeting of 3 July 2013, the « Mutuelle des chefs de France » becomes « The Cookers of France ».
16 July 2021, the Mutual acquires a dwelling house in Boulogne Billancourt named « Villa Raoul Gaiga » in tribute to the President of the Cooks of France from 1993 to 2007.
22 March 2023The apartment at 13 rue des Plantes 75014 Paris is sold. The funds are placed to serve a future project in the philanthropic spirit of Léopold Mourier.
The ordinary general meeting of 17 June 2024 vote New President of the Mutual, Christian Leclou, and the election of the 23 new directors of the Board of Directors.
